Sand felt so tender and private, 'Is it good for my exfoliation' had me 🫠. And then BANG! - the shift to senseless violence and helplessness felt sublime. I loved it.
You Must Save The Earth is brilliant - feels like a whimsical wail.
~You Must Keep Being Seen Trying or something of the sort. Thanks for sharing, Amrita :)
I too had kept myself distant from poetry for the same reason , I used to think I didn’t have what it takes to truly appreciate it. I often felt like an imposter when it came to poetry.
But slowly, as I reintroduced myself to Hindi poets like Dinkar, Shivmangal Singh, and Harivansh Rai Bachchan, I realized that this sensibility can be developed.
Who knows, maybe someday I’ll start writing poems too. And if I do, I’ll remember your work as one of the inspirations that led me there.
Fantastic!
Beautiful!
You have tried forms, languages, every kind of technic!
Very imaginative mind!
When did you become one?
When did you change from my little girl into this woman?
Love you!
Mumma you made my day. :') Love you <3
Excellent! The last poem is so simple and clever. I need to learn poetry appreciation from you.
Hehe thank you! Not sure I have anything to teach, but let's discuss :D
As someone also trying to find his way back to (reading) poetry, this was timely and wonderful. Lovely poems too
Thank you, Ayush! :)
Lovely.
Thank you :)
Love the poems! That visual structure of the Lily poem is just so good.
Thank you Sarthak!
Kudos to the effort.
Godspeed to the journey ahead.
PS; Mary Oliver's Handbook is merely a guide. A go-to at times. You're good, even if you skip it. Just read her poems. That should suffice.
Beautiful. Inspired by you I wrote this just now
There are words I want to say,
my heart knows them,
But
my mouth fails to form them.
There are experiences I want to convey,
my heart knows them,
But
my fingers fail to write them.
There are feelings I want to share,
my heart knows them,
But
my mind fails to grasp them.
Is this who I am?
a confused puzzle of
words, experiences and feelings,
so vast, so colorful, so frail
easy to love for a second
but
difficult to hold for a lifetime?
